Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and [not set] for the use of Fincraft. They are written to be read, not to be skipped — if any part of this is unclear, write to [not set] and ask before you subscribe.

1. Who you are agreeing with
Fincraft is operated by [not set], of [not set] (“we”, “us”). “You” means the person who creates the account. Where you add other people to a household, you are responsible for what they do with it.
2. What the service is
Fincraft is a personal finance record-keeping and planning tool. You enter or import your own financial information and it organises, totals, converts and projects it. It is software, not a bank, broker, adviser or accountant, and it holds no money of yours.
Nothing in the service is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Every figure it produces — net worth, returns, forecasts, tax estimates, what is available to spend — is a calculation from what you gave it. Read the disclaimer before relying on any of them.
3. Your account
- You must give an accurate email address and keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at [not set] as soon as you think someone else has access to it.
- Two-factor authentication is free on every plan, strongly recommended for everyone, and required for a household's owner.
- One person, one account. Sharing a login defeats the audit trail that makes misuse visible, and it is how a household loses track of who changed what.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live — 18 in most countries. Fincraft is not offered to children.
Sharing a household
- Records belong to a household. Its owner holds the subscription, decides who is in it and what each person may do, and is the only one who can erase its data.
- Each person's role limits what they can do, and the limit is enforced by the service, not just hidden on screen: a viewer or adviser can look but cannot change anything.
- Access you give with an end date stops on that date. Removing someone ends their access at once.
- You are responsible for whom you invite, and for having the agreement of anyone whose financial details you record or share.
4. Plans, payment and renewal
- Plans and current prices are shown on the billing screen. Prices there are the ones that apply; this document deliberately does not repeat them, so the two can never disagree.
- Each household can try a paid plan free, once, for 30 days. The trial starts when a household on the Free plan chooses a paid plan; no card or payment details are needed. You are never charged for it: when it ends, the household returns to Free on its own unless you choose to pay, and everything you entered stays.
- Each plan includes a set amount of document storage and other allowances, shown on the billing screen. Reaching one stops you adding more of that thing; it never deletes what you already have.
- Subscriptions are billed in advance for the period you choose and renew automatically at the end of it, at the price then published, until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing screen. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep your plan until that period ends.
- We may change prices. Any change takes effect at your next renewal and not before, and we will tell you by email at least 30 days beforehand so you can cancel first.
- Taxes such as VAT, GST or sales tax are added where the law of the country you are billed in requires them, and shown separately on the invoice.
- How payment is taken, and what happens if it is late, is set out in the payment policy.
5. Refunds
If you are not satisfied, write to [not set] within 14 days of a first subscription or a renewal and we will refund that payment in full. After 14 days a period already paid for is not refundable, though you can cancel at any time to stop the next one. This is in addition to any refund right you have under the law where you live, which these terms do not take away. The refund policy gives the details.
6. Your data stays yours
You keep every right in the information you put into Fincraft. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train anything. We hold it in order to run the service for you, and for no other purpose. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is held, where, and for how long.
You can export everything you hold as JSON at any time, from the Settings screen — including after you cancel, for as long as the account exists. Nothing is locked in.
Some features put you in sole control, and that has consequences you should know before using them:
- End-to-end vault items are encrypted with a passphrase only you know. We cannot read, reset or recover them; if the passphrase is lost, so are they.
- Emergency access releases the emergency pack, and the vault items you marked for release, to the person you name if they ask and you do not decline within the waiting period you chose. Choose that person and that period with care, and keep your email address current so the notice reaches you.
- Imports — from a bank statement or from another app — add what the file says. Check the preview before confirming; an import can be undone in one step from the import history.
7. What you must not do
- Break into, probe or disrupt the service, or try to reach data that is not yours. Responsible security research is welcome — write to [not set] first and we will not pursue you for testing agreed in advance.
- Resell, sublicense or white-label the service, or copy it to build a competing one.
- Upload anything unlawful, or anyone else's financial records without their knowledge.
- Use automated means to place load on the service beyond ordinary personal use.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Fincraft running and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we do not offer a service level guarantee on any plan. If an outage is long enough to matter, write to us and we will credit the time.
9. Suspension and ending the agreement
- A household's owner can erase its records at any time from their profile; see the privacy policy for what that means and how long backups keep a copy. A member can ask the owner to remove them at any time, or write to us if that does not happen.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 7, or whose payment has failed and gone unresolved after notice. Except where the law requires otherwise or an account is being used to harm others, we will give you notice and a chance to put it right, and an opportunity to export your data first.
- If we stop offering the service altogether, we will give at least 90 days' notice, refund the unused part of anything paid, and keep export working to the last day.
10. Liability
Fincraft is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any financial loss, lost profit, lost opportunity or tax consequence arising from a decision you took with the help of it — see the disclaimer, which explains why that limit is a statement about what the software can know rather than a disclaimer of responsibility for our own failures.
Where we are liable, our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded: fraud, our own gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by us, or any right you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For any change that materially affects your rights we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel for a pro-rata refund if you do not accept it. Smaller corrections take effect when published, and the date at the top always shows when this page last changed.
12. Law and disputes
This agreement is governed by [not set], and disputes are subject to [not set]. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the law of the country you live in, or of your right to bring a claim there.
Before going to court, please write to [not set]. Most things are a misunderstanding, and we would rather fix one than argue about it.
