FinCraft

Disclaimer

Fincraft arranges your own figures and does arithmetic on them. It is not advice, and it is not a second opinion. This page explains what each kind of number on these screens can and cannot tell you — not to disclaim responsibility, but because a figure you understand the limits of is worth more than one you do not.

Not financial advice

[not set] is not a licensed financial adviser, investment adviser, broker, portfolio manager, tax agent or accountant in any country, and Fincraft is not a regulated financial product. Nothing it shows is a personal recommendation to buy, sell, hold or switch anything.

The service does not know your circumstances, your obligations, your risk tolerance or your plans beyond what you typed into it. Before acting on anything here, take advice from someone qualified and regulated who does.

Every figure is only as good as what you entered

Fincraft calculates; it does not verify. It cannot tell that a balance is out of date, that an account is missing, that a transaction was categorised wrongly, or that a valuation you typed last year no longer holds. A total is the sum of what it was given.

What the particular numbers mean

Net worth Assets minus debts across every account, converted at a stored exchange rate. It is a snapshot of what has been recorded, not an independently verified statement of what you own.
Valuations Property, unlisted holdings and possessions are worth whatever you said they were worth. Fincraft has no way to check an estimate and does not pretend to.
Prices and exchange rates Where a price feed is enabled, prices come from third parties, may be delayed, and are not a dealing price. Exchange rates are the ones recorded for the date in question; they are for reporting, not for transacting.
Returns, XIRR and CAGR Past performance, computed from the cash flows you recorded. It says nothing about what any holding will do next. Missing or mis-dated contributions change the answer materially.
Forecasts and “available to spend” Arithmetic on your recorded schedule, not a prediction. They assume your scheduled items continue, that spending stays near its recent average, and that markets stay flat — which they will not. Each screen states its own assumptions and its confidence; read them.
Tax estimates An illustration of how published slab rates apply to figures you supplied. Rates change at each Budget, the service may not yet reflect the most recent one, and your actual liability depends on circumstances the service does not know. It is not a return, not a filing, and not a substitute for a tax professional.
Nominee and succession records A record of what you told us, to help you keep track. Recording a nominee here does not register one with any bank, registrar, insurer or depository, and has no legal effect whatever. Succession law is involved and, in many countries, differs by religion, residency and asset type. Use a lawyer.
Imported statements and app exports Reading a PDF or CSV involves interpretation, and recognition of a scanned statement more so. An export from another app is read as that app wrote it, including its dates, categories and any mistakes in it. Check imported rows before relying on them; the preview exists for exactly that.
Calculators Zakat, end-of-service gratuity, GOSI and income tax figures follow the published rules each calculator names and the date it was last checked. Rules change, employers and scholars differ, and your own contract or circumstances may not match the general case. They are estimates to prepare a conversation, not tax, legal or religious rulings.
Money sent abroad The cost of a transfer is worked out against the market rate stored for that day. Where no rate is stored the screen says so and counts only the fee. A provider ranked cheapest was cheapest on your own past transfers, not necessarily on the next one.

No connection to your bank

Fincraft does not connect to any bank, broker or exchange, holds no credentials for one, and cannot move money. Every figure arrives because you entered or imported it. Nobody from [not set] will ever ask you for a banking password, a card number or an OTP — if someone does, it is not us.

Decisions are yours

You are responsible for what you do with these figures. To the extent the law allows, [not set] is not liable for investment loss, tax penalty, missed payment, shortfall or any other financial consequence of a decision taken with the help of Fincraft. The limits and the exceptions to them are in the terms of use, which do not exclude liability for our own fraud or gross negligence.

Questions

If a number on any screen does not look right, please tell us at [not set]. Most screens will show you their working; where one does not, ask and we will explain it or fix it.
